New Direction

The Client


DrayTek, a manufacturer of broadband CPE, including firewalls, VPN devices, routers and wireless LAN devices, are a well-established business with foundations and factories based out in China. 


The Brief 


With no marketing or promotional strategy in place, the business has been over-reliant on the messages from China as well as the promotion and sales from vendors and suppliers in the channel.  A new marketing, PR and website automation strategy was required to reach new vendors, partners, resellers and customers in B2B and B2C retail space.


The Solution


Taking into account the bradchuck 3 steps policy, we looked at the major problem with the current DrayTek set up and determined that to be the UK website.  Problematic in its design, it suffered from poor SEO and a Doman Authority thanks to no tracked backlinks, jumbled content, poor CTA and no automation or lead generation tracking.  A new website design to kick start the solution was needed.


Working with one of our exclusive partners, Draytek received great support to have the new design connect created that acted as the new benchmark for our continued support project.  Once we had the structure of a strong site, we could implement the marketing tools, software and support systems that were essential for lead generation and sales growth.


Working with the new Sugar CRM, and integrating SEMrush for SEO setup, meant we could formulate a  marketing strategy based on content creation, video and audio descriptions of the DrayTek new product launches.  This also allowed us the create a new press strategy, one that got the leaders talking to the trades and opened doors for new vendors to work with them.


Full training to all sales teams was supplied with new CRM tools, as well as weekly social media masterclasses and a steady stream of leads from the new email automation process.

The Need to Control our Online Reputation

In today’s world, online reputation management is essential. The Internet, and more specifically what people say about you online, is perhaps the single biggest influence on your success and that of your business and brand. This is true for businesses and brands of all sizes and sectors around the world. 


When people Google you, everything they see in the search results influences their perception of you. Their perception is your online reputation.


As part of our work with Draytek, we undertook an Online Management training session with ALL staff, outlining the essential point that they can all manage their digital profiles for the benefit of the business.


Before we began, we needed to outline the benefits of the course to the CEO and powers that be - we outlined this in 4 ways:


  1. Credibility – positive links, comments and high visibility online makes you credible in the eyes of customers, stakeholders, employees, influencers and peers.
  2. Trust – people trust a company, brand or person with a good reputation.
  3. Profit – companies with higher star-ratings, reviews and positive content and PR get more business.
  4. Talent – brands with a positive reputation earn better employees.


We then were able to present a review of our findings based on 2-week research and defined multiple solutions for managing such a reputation in the market place.


Our guide, which we are happy to share with clients who are keen to learn more, focused on several key factors, each determined to alter perceptions of what a digital profile meant, but also to set the course of understanding how to self manage in the future.


The result?  A team of happy staff who have better control of what is seen and read about them, whilst also helping to promote healthy content about the Draytek brand
