Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of small and/or large-scale personal or corporate events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, weddings, formal parties, concerts, or conventions.
Does your business have an event strategy that drives leads?
Alex Karim - Microsoft
The power of face-to-face marketing can't be supplanted by digital tricks and tactics.
According to the Event Marketing 2019: Benchmarks and Trends Report, most marketers believe that event marketing is the single most effective marketing channel for achieving business goals.
At its core, marketing is communication. It is the ability to clearly convey a message at the opportune time. Live events provide the opportunity for one to connect directly with stakeholders and communicate their message. It’s no wonder that event marketing continues to grow as one of the most important marketing strategies for today’s big companies.
Events help grow your business in several ways:
Scale up your sales
When you run an event, you get a whole group of people together instead of trying to sell your products/services on a one-to-one basis. This is a much more efficient use of your time and will speed up your customer sales process.
Get a higher level of trust much faster
As humans, we are psychologically predisposed to respond better to people with whom we have eye contact, and whose faces we can see. So, if you let people see you (and hear your voice, etc.), they will automatically have greater trust in you than if they’ve just visited your website, for example.
Tell your audience what you have to offer
Whilst you have people in front of you, you can use that captive audience time to tell them about your product or service, and any new changes you have.
Get sign-ups/sales
You can actually make an offer at that event for instant sign-ups. This doesn’t have to be a pressure sale. You can just tell people about the benefits, and ask them to give you their name and email address if they’re interested.
With a team that has designed, managed, and delivered hundreds of live, virtual, and digital events over the years, we are best placed to support your event strategy moving forward
Six million international participants generated £38 billion of meetings direct spending, representing 11.5% of the sector total in 2019.
Ian Morris - Sales Director - Associate Events
We work with i-vent UK, the leading provider of virtual reality events, conferences and exhibitions to run and maintain digital-first online events that create the traditional feel in a surreal way.
If only we bought shares in Zoom.....We are able to host and manage multi-layered business meetings and events via Zoom and other video chat platforms that take advantage of the latest technology to share and record.
A webinar is a virtual seminar on a topic where usually a host presents a lecture or demo. This format is best suited if you want to reach a larger audience. The presentation can be downloaded and the audience can ask questions over chat or audio.
Podcasts are a series of episodes consisting only audio files which can be downloaded by the listener. But do you know how to upload, distribute and measure your podcasting efforts?
Ever heard of AMA-ask me anything? A session with an expert or guest speaker. It’s a unique way of interviewing where the guest takes questions from the audience in real-time as well as some pre-submitted questions.
Hugely popular among the startup community. It is an informal discussion with a guest and the moderator. Its comfortable setting makes it engaging for the audience as it seems like you are listening to your close friend sharing deep insights.

A well-planned promotional strategy is vital for a successful event. Unless you are running events that are 'must-attends' and already have a rich history of success, you will need a strong, structured and well-implemented event marketing strategy to follow. Our steps to success are as below:
1. Setup a Website for Your Event
While you can just put a basic landing page and contact form on your existing website, setting up a standalone website for your event means you can focus your branding and SEO efforts on the event itself.
2. Use Pop-ups on Your Site
Pop-ups may be controversial but there’s no denying that they can boost your conversion rate. Putting a pop-up on your website makes sure that visitors find out about your event and you can direct them to your dedicated site or landing page.
3. Include Guest Speaker Pictures and Bios
Popular speakers can be a huge draw for your event. Make sure you include a speaker page that includes photos of your guest speakers as well as their credentials, experience, and why they’re qualified to speak at your event.
4. Create Videos Showcasing Your Event and Speakers
Videos can be a highly effective form of event marketing, particularly when distributed across social networks like YouTube and Facebook.
5. Use Email to Market to Your List
Email can be one of the most effective marketing channels if you already have a list of loyal followers.
6. Create a Hashtag for Your Event
Before you start promoting your event on social media, choose a hashtag that’s short and easy to remember and use it on every post.
7. Rebrand Your Social Media Profiles for Your Event
The banner graphics on your Facebook and Twitter pages are great places to show off your event and make sure the dates, hashtag, and website are always prominent.
8. Blog About Your Event
Writing blog posts about your upcoming event is an easy way to increase interest and push for registrations. It also helps to improve your SEO and attract a new audience who may be interested in attending.
9. Utilise Influencer Marketing
Inviting influencers in your industry to your event can be a great way to reach a wider audience and boost registration.
10. Create an Affiliate Program
As well as offering free entry and other perks, an affiliate program can be an effective way to encourage influencers to write and post about your event.
11. Write a Press Release
Distributing a press release about your event is the most effective way to get it picked up by media sites and news portals.
12. Use Paid Ads
PPC ads targeting keyword terms on search engines like Google and paid advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram can also be a good way not only to increase awareness of your event but also attract more registrations.
13. Optimize SEO on Your Event Website
Making your event landing page or website friendly to search engines is vital for attracting visitors who may not already know about your event and brand.
14. Submit Your Site to Industry Websites and Directories
Many industry websites include a calendar or list of upcoming events that may be of interest for their followers
Unquestionably, one of my finest marketing achievements in DXC Technology took place at Smart Factory Expo in 2022.
Setting the vision, plan, and strategy to win the funding to take DXC to a prime customer-focused trade show and exhibition, albeit with incredible time restraints and limited support, was a phenomenal effort.
Ivana Pirochtova - Partner Alliance Lead - DXC
DXC Technology, a global leader in technology services and solutions, embarked on a journey to showcase its innovative Mixed Reality solution at UK Construction Week 2022. Led by Brad Chuck, Head of Marketing, DXC's participation exemplified its commitment to driving technological innovation and digital transformation in the construction and homebuilding industries.
Post-pandemic, the decision to participate in an in-person event posed significant challenges. However, DXC remained resolute in its belief in the transformative potential of its Mixed Reality solution and sought to leverage UK Construction Week as a platform to showcase its capabilities.
Under Brad's leadership, DXC devised a comprehensive strategy to ensure the success of its participation. This involved close collaboration with partners, particularly Microsoft, to highlight the fusion of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in construction applications. Brad orchestrated the design and organization of DXC's booth, focusing on immersive experiences and engaging presentations to captivate attendees.
DXC's presence at UK Construction Week was meticulously executed, thanks to Brad's strategic planning and attention to detail. The booth showcased live demonstrations of the Mixed Reality solution, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize design processes, enhance training, and improve collaboration in the construction industry.

In conclusion, DXC Technology's participation at UK Construction Week 2022, led by Brad Chuck, exemplified its commitment to driving innovation and digital transformation in the construction industry. As the lead organizer for DXC's participation in the Luminia ERP Head to Head virtual event, I orchestrated every aspect, from gathering speakers to crafting marketing content and promoting via digital and email channels. Additionally, I conducted a live demo showcasing Mixed Reality Visualization, powered by Dynamics 365, and its role in supporting ERP transformation for SME businesses. The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the success of our engagement and the value it brought to attendees.
With a small promotional team, Durkan needed to outsource much of their stand management and event marketing to me, to help deliver the new engaging message of sustainability in construction. I helped at 3 major trade and exhibition shows, as well as securing 2 live speaker slots and driving brand awareness to new levels
With little traction from past events, a new strategy was devised to outline the need to attend and the need to be seen at certain relevant events and exhibitions. The "aVent" team was created and tasked to find the best way to promote the business without large scale spend and staff resources taken away from the office.
Introduced the agency to new event options to drive business awareness and open up new doors for partnerships opportunities. Included booking speaker slots, event stand and exhibition build, and after dinner speaking engagements at high ranking industry society events

You worked tirelessly to ensure we had the right engagement across all teams with absolute focus on getting results and generating pipeline, and ensuring we were extremely well positioned with Microsoft in the process. Thank you for your commitment to deliver”
Gareth Scragg – Head of Marketing UKI
“Brad, well done on delivering our presence and impact at DMW 2022. This was not an easy task with the layer for red tape required to deliver such a presence at a conference. This event at a high impact across MBA, the wider DXC and our partners Microsoft and Dell. Looking forward to seeing the leads and resultant business from this event”
James Finnegan – Sales Director – MBA UKI
“Brad was focused, organised and energetic in the preparation and execution of Hannover Messe. I can't imagine how a better job could have been done. The great relationships you have with our partners has meant that DXC has been able to participate in a lot of events that otherwise would not have been possible. These events have led to lots of opportunities for DXC.
Most impressively for me was the sponsorships and work he did on making the UK Digital Manufacturing Week in 2022 come to life for the business - great results!
Brad, you are also a lovely person to work with. You always make me feel like part of the team and are willing to offer help whenever I need it. Thank you!

Tracey May – UKI Commercial Marketing
“I was extremely impressed with Brad's management and overall approach to the Expo event.
Not only was his enthusiasm infectious, but the organization was also first rate. From my perspective this was probably the best trade fare I've attended or represented - was very enjoyable and to see our prospective customers so enthused, was in no small part due to Brad's input.
We now need to drive hard follow up leads and secure quantifiable business off the back of it. As a minimum this event clearly elevated DXC's brand. Kudos to Brad for arranging so well”
Richard Bywaters – Sales Manager – UKI Workplace and Mobility
“Brad did an outstanding job coordinating all the logistics for the Digital Manufacturing week in Liverpool.
He was on point in terms of gathering intel on clients, their relationship with DXC, and brokering warm introductions. He ensured that all DXC personnel were prepared for their client interactions and were comfortable with each other. He had the right DXC representatives at the right locations and there was never a moment where the booth or a client inquiry was unattended or unheard.
Brad's efforts and contribution to the event were vital to its success - and are necessary to keep up with our competitors”
Briana-Rose Sekulic -Senior Managing Partner

Ivana Pirochtova -Senior Partner Manager
"Brad is an extremely competent marketing leader. His astuteness in organising large events for DXC in the UK and Europe resulted in high numbers of sales opportunities. Brad also built strong profitable relationships with partners that saw DXC's brand especially in the Smart Manufacturing market strengthen. Brad is a real asset to any company."
Russell Duggan-Rees - Smart Factory Solutions
"Brad is the figure head for all marketing events, lead and pipeline creation and more importantly being that first engagement with potential customers. His work in the key strategic industry sectors has and will continue to provide fruit into FY24 as he headed DXC (in collaboration from Microsoft) at the Digital Manufacturing event in Liverpool, Manufacturing at Hannover Messe (the largest Manufacturing event in the world) and Retail/CPG event in London. The detailed data captured was first class and will enable our DXC Microsoft Practice to follow up on those leads and attain our FY24 revenue targets.
Brad is also an exceedingly accomplished speaker and to that end I enlisted his assistance in hosting the first DXC / Microsoft sales fireside chat at the DXC Grow event in April 2023, this event was free and open to all our 140,000 colleagues to bring understanding to us all about the value of the DXC and Microsoft partnership and how leaning in on one another’s knowledge and accelerators brings greater value.”
Paul Anderson – Training and Programs – Microsoft Practice
"I have had the pleasure of working with lots of amazing people in events, not just those that deliver events, but those who bring the initial vision and truly have the understanding on how to form the initial concept of an event to generate desired outcomes. I can say with absolute confidence that Brad is one of those visionaries and I have more than enjoyed each and every project we have worked on together. I know that Brad will always have the drive for generating success from any event he is involved in and that drive inspires us to deliver outstanding events in partnership with Brad today and hopefully for many years to come."
Ian Morris - Event Manager
“Brad did a great job at bringing together various parts of DXC into a coherent plan that enabled us all to play an active role in ensuring that DXC's presence at DMW22 was both professional and valuable in terms of customer engagements and opportunity identification. Brads approach was inclusive, and it was a pleasure working with him during the preparations phases and also great to meet him at the event where he ensured that we all new our roles and were able to execute them.”
Brodie Peers – Technologist Sales – EMEA
"Another aspect Brad managed was taking leadership of our event strategy and managing the budgets for us to be able to get in-front of key decision makers at events and deliver what we can do. From organising the design of the stand, managing the people on the day and organising a post event strategy to actively target the warm leads generated, Brad covered it all."
